[Spoilers for The Ragged Edge]
Some quick thoughts on The Ragged Edge in the hopes of getting them in before you record. And *very* quick thoughts. Before about 5 minutes ago, when I looked The Ragged Edge up on the spoileramadingdongtastic Lurker’s Guide, I couldn’t actually remember what happens in The Ragged Edge.
Which isn’t all that surprising, because not much happens. The main development is an advance in the Mysterious Raids plot. This plot suffers from the same problem as the telepaths plot (which it now replaces as the main focus of the show) – it’s not bad in conception, but it moves too damn slowly.
And here it’s intertwined with the show’s *third* visit to Addictionland (and the second focusing on Garibaldi). That’s a realistic depiction of addiction, to be fair, but it’s not particularly enjoyable to watch.
At the end of the day, it’s a shame that we never saw Season Five as originally envisaged, in which all of this would have happened much more quickly.

[Spoilers for The Corps is Mother, the Corps is Father]
OK, so *this* one I remember. Actually, I think it’s one of the very best S5 episodes. And it’s very much an S5 episode, one of those skewed, “let’s do an episode about this” episodes that’s there because S5 had to be padded out.
Obviously, it’s not an important episode, and I can see how someone impatient for the overall plot to advance might find it irritating to spend time exploring how Bester looks from the perspective of his fellow Psi Corps loyalists. But Bester has been a significant secondary character in the show as a whole, and I for one don’t mind spending a little time with this version of him.
